THUNDER BAY -- A winter deluge means students at rural schools in the Thunder Bay area will get an extended long weekend.
Crestview, Valley Central, Gorham and Ware, McKenzie, Whitefish Valley and Kakabeka Falls schools have all been closed for the day.
Student Transportation Services has also cancelled all rural bus routes, though all other schools remain open, including Norwester'View and Five Mile Elementary School. All Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board and CSDC des Aurores boreales schools remain open.
Students taking the bus should expect some routes to be delayed because of the weather.
