THUNDER BAY – Liberal MP Don Rusnak will seek a second term in Thunder Bay-Rainy River.

The first-term MP on Thursday is expected to accept the party’s nomination to run in the riding in the 2019 federal election.

He was first elected in 2015 and serves as vice-chair of the Nordic-Baltic Parliamentary group and is a member of the standing committee on Indigenous and northern affairs.

The nomination event, being held at the Davinci Centre, begins at 6:15 p.m.

No other party in the riding has yet to name a candidate for next year's election. Liberal incumbent Patty Hajdu is the lone nominated candidate in Thunder Bay-Superior North.
