FORT FRANCES - The Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to thank the Rainy River District EarlyON Programs for supporting the Safety Scoop initiative designed to help celebrate youth.  

The program will run district-wide between Aug. 1 - Sept. 15, 2021. Officers in the area of Stratton, Rainy River, Emo, Fort Frances and Atikokan will be on the lookout for youth practicing safe habits such as wearing bicycle helmets and seatbelts or following the rules of the road while riding bicycles.

If youth are found to be practicing safe habits, officers could issue them with a positive ticket that enables them to receive an ice cream treat from one of the following local vendors: 

Stratton Service
Andrew's Snack Shack
Woods Bakery
Hannam Park Canteen
Norlunds
The Scoop
BP

The OPP would like to thank everyone for their support, especially Early On programs who will reimburse vendors the cost of the treats at the end of the program.
