THUNDER BAY — The Canadian Coast Guard reports that it helped to refloat a sailboat that struck a reef on Lake Superior early Wednesday.
The incident occurred at Spar Island near Cloud Bay, just after 7:00 a.m.
A Coast Guard spokesperson said the 14-metre motor lifeboat Cape Chaillon was dispatched from Thunder Bay to pull the 9-metre sailboat off the reef.
He said the lone person on the boat was not injured, and the boat was successfully refloated.
