BRAMPTON, Ont.  – Indoor hair cuts will soon be allowed, whether or not Thunder Bay District remains in lockdown mode.

There’s also good news for fitness centres, which will be permitted to allow up to 10 people to exercise outdoors.

The changes to salons, which will include operating at 25 per cent capacity, or a maximum of five customers, will begin on April 12.

Gyms will get their reprieve a little sooner, the changes coming into effect on Monday.

Both were made possible by changes to the provincial COVID-19 framework, confirmed on Friday by Ontario Premier Doug Ford.

Ford said it doesn’t mean people can let their guard down.

“What I want people to do is just to follow the protocols. Don’t be having people over. We should all be on high alert,” Ford said at a news conference in Brampton, Ont.
