THUNDER BAY -- Environment Canada is issuing a thunderstorm watch for the city of Thunder Bay Saturday morning and into the afternoon.

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Environment Canada says thunderstorms affecting the area have "weakened" this morning, but conditions are still favourable for thunderstorms developing this afternoon, with a greater chance of them developing the evening.
