North Hill Street residents came to the rescue of a seagull that found itself trapped in fishing line.

Neighbours found the bird around 8 p.m. Sunday stuck 25-feet in the air on a piece of fishing line that was draped across the street. Olivia Breton, who lives on the street, says she had just put her dogs out when she noticed a group of people standing on the street.
She says she looked up and saw a seagull hanging by its wing from a line in the middle of the road.

After being told that no one was going to help the animal, the neighbours pooled their resources together to get the seagull down.

Using a piece of fence post, a blowtorch and a ladder, they managed to burn the line, unwind it, and allow the seagull to fly away.
