Police say they haven't ruled out the possibility of foul play but remain hopeful to find a 15-year-old-teenager who went missing last week.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers, its tactical unit, the OPP and volunteers searched the area of Mary Street and Holt Place for 15-year-old Jordan Wabasse on Sunday.

Thunder Bay Police Insp. Andy Hay said Wabasse was last seen leaving a city bus near Holt Place around 10 p.m. on Feb. 7. He said police would continue to look in the area until they either found Wabasse or were satisfied that they covered all the area.

Hay said for now they haven’t ruled out the possibility of foul play.

"In cases where we have a person missing, we have to entertain the fact that it may not resolve well," Hay said. "It may be just a missing person, someone who wandered off or it may be something that’s a little more criminal in nature. We always have to keep that in mind."

Police describe Wabasse as of Aboriginal decent, straight black hair, six-foot-one, about 200 pounds wearing a dark grey coloured jacked with a purple hood, wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs cap backwards, black pants and white Adidas shoes.

Police are asking residents in the area to check sheds, garages and potential places of shelter on or around their properties. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Wabasse can contact police at 684-1200.
