THUNDER BAY - A Shuniah man who has been missing since early September is the focus of a search around Lakeshore Drive and Silver Harbour Road.
OPP officials confirmed Monday that a search being conducted in the area is for 33-year-old Grant Tiboni.
Tiboni was last seen at his residence on Silver Harbour Road on Sept. 8. Police sought the public’s assistance in locating Tiboni and officials with the OPP said the investigation has been ongoing.
On Sunday, several OPP officers were seen searching on ATVs and a helicopter circling the area around Lakeshore Drive.
OPP Provincial Constable, Diana Cole, confirmed that the emergency response team officers in the area are actively searching for Tiboni.
“We are conducting a search in that area,” she said. “That is the area he was last seen, so we are focusing our search in that area.”
No additional information was immediately available, but Cole said that the investigation is still ongoing.
“We’ve been searching for him since he went missing,” Cole said. “We had different information from people and just following up on tips and we’ve been focused on the Shuniah area.”
Tiboni is described as 180 cm (5’11”), 80 kg (170 lbs), with brown eyes, short brown hair, and a brown goatee. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Grant Tiboni are asked to contact the OPP at 1-888- 310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
