Search warrant leads to drug-related charges

DRYDEN -- Three Thunder Bay resident are facing drug-related charges following a search warrant at a residence in Dryden.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, Dryden OPP, the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau with assistance from Treaty 3 Police Service (T3PS) and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service executed a search warrant on Tuesday, May 17 at a Pitt Avenue residence.

As a result of the warrant several items were seized including, three firearms, brass knuckles, cell phones, digital scales, packaging materials and a large quantity of Canadian currency. Also seized was a large quantity of Crystal Meth, Cocaine and Fentanyl with an estimated street value of approximately $190,000.

Chris BEEPATH, 43, from Thunder Bay has been arrested and charged with possession of schedule I substance for purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

John HARRISON, 39, from Thunder Bay was arrested and charged with possession of Schedule I substance for purpose of trafficking, possession of schedule I substance, possession of a prohibited device, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and careless storage of a firearm

Police also arrested and charged Mackenzie OGIMA, 21, from Thunder Bay with possession of schedule I substance for purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The accused have been held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
