Search warrant leads to seizure of cash and cocaine

Police have two men in custody following an execution of a search warrant on Tuesday.

THUNDER BAY – City police have two men in custody on drug-related offences following an execution of a search warrant Tuesday evening.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials, in a release issued Wednesday, say a search warrant was executed Tuesday evening on an Academy Drive residence.

Officers seized a large quantity of what police believe is cocaine with an estimated street value of $96,500. They also seized more than $5,000 in cash.

As a result, Tamar Miller, 22, and Stanley Sarfo, 23, of Brampton, Ont. were arrested and charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Both accused appeared in court Wednesday and both have been remanded into custody with a future date.
