Search warrant leads to seizure of drugs

DRYDEN, Ont. – A pair from Dryden are facing a number of drug-related charges following a drug bust.

According to Ontario Provincial Police, Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Bureau, Community Street Crime Unit, Northwest Region Emergency Response Team and the Dryden Police Service executed a search warrant On Dec. 18 around 8:55 p.m. at a residence located on Colonization Avenue.

As a result of the search warrant police seized a 62.41 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 19 tablets of Morphine, packaging materials, drug paraphernalia and $665.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $12.670.

Shawn Polny, 35, and Ashley Shine, 22, both of Dryden have been charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking morphine and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Both accused have been released on a promise to appear/undertaking, and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Jan.13, 2020 to answer to the charges.
