GERALDTON, Ont. – A 30-year-old Geraldton man is facing numerous charges following a search warrant on Saturday.
Ontario Provincial Police along with the assistance of the North West Region Crime Unit, North West Region Emergency Response Team and OPP Canine Unit executed a search warrant Saturday at a residence in Geraldton.
According to a media release, the search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation being conducted between the Greenstone and Thunder Bay detachments.
Police seized several weapons including a Mauser .32 caliber handgun and brass knuckles.
Matthew Marino, 30, has been charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm, indecent act, obstruct justice, fail to comply with a judicial release order, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm/ammunition, unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition and fail to comply with a probation order.
The accused has made a brief court appearance on Sunday at the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay.
He was remanded into custody.
