The second-degree murder case that was halted for under representation in the jury pool will not resume until sometime after the New Year.

Andre Wareham appeared briefly at the Thunder Bay Superior Court of Justice on Monday. Police charged Wareham with second-degree murder in connection to the death of 29-year-old William Atkins.

In January of 2009, Thunder Bay Police Service officers said a fight broke out at a Finlayson Street apartment around 5:30 p.m.

Atkins received several stab wounds and later died at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

The case was delayed over concerns that there was a lack of Aboriginal representation on the jury pool.

Attorneys involved in the case requested to move the case back until Nov. 21 so that they may go over all the material.

Instead, a judge pushed back the trial until Feb. 6. 2012.
