Second-degree murder charge laid in Schreiber

One man faces second-degree murder charge following a 14-year-old homicide investigation.

SCHREIBER, Ont. – A Schreiber resident has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder following a 14-year homicide investigation.

According to a release, Schreiber OPP were called to investigate a suspicious death of Jeanine St. Jean at her Quebec Street home on Nov. 29, 2006 at 2:34 p.m.

As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged Nicholas Stasula, 44, with second-degree murder.

The accused has been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing in Thunder Bay on Friday, April 3.
