Second snowmobiler's body recovered from lake

NIPIGON, Ont. -- A second body has been pulled from the icy waters of Lake NIpigon.

Ontario Provincial Police say the underwater search and recovery unit on Tuesday discovered the body of 45-year-old Nathaniel Thompson of Rocky Bay First Nation, days after he and Gerald Thompson, 51, went missing on a snowmobile excursion.

Gerald Thompson's body was recovered by the dive team on Sunday.

Police say the men were last seen last Thursday. Two days later a helicopter search crew spotted a snow machine submerged in the lake and a second set of tracks leading to another hole in the lake.

A post-mortem was conducted on Gerald Thompson on Tuesday. A post-mortem on Nathaniel Thompson's body is scheduled for Thursday.
