THUNDER BAY – A section of Red River Road will be closed in both directions from Thursday to Saturday this week.

According to a City of Thunder Bay release, the Waterfront District BIA's StrEATery and Marketplace will shut down on Wednesday and crews will begin to take down the outdoor dining area.

Red River Road from Court Street to St. Paul Street will be closed in both directions from Thursday, Oct. 1 to Saturday Oct. 3.

The city is asking motorists to drive with caution and follow posted detours.

“The StrEATery is a great example of the city and the BIA partnering to support local businesses. We’re glad the community came out to enjoy the space,” said Kayla Dixon, Kayla Dixon, the director of the engineering and operations division, in a release.

“We will be looking for feedback from residents and businesses to assess future implementations.”
