THUNDER BAY -- Police have closed the northbound lanes of the Thunder Bay Expressway between Oliver Road and the Harbour Expressway because of a motor vehicle collision.

Police, who issued a tweet about the closure just after midnight on Saturday, said the closure was expected to last eight hours. The incident involved a transport and a passenger vehicle.

OPP advise motorists to detour on Golf Links Road to bypass the collision scene.

No information about injuries resulting from the crash have yet to be released.
