OTTAWA -- Thunder Bay goaltender Matt Murray's American Hockey League exile is over.

The 27-year-old, sent down to the minors after allowing four goals in a Nov. 24 game, on Tuesday was recalled by the Ottawa Senators from the AHL's Belleville Senators.

Murray, who has struggled since being traded to Ottawa by Pittsburgh prior to last season, has a 3.26 goals against average and a save percentage of .890 in six appearances with Ottawa in 2021-22, sporting a dismal 0-5-0 record.

For his career, the two-time Stanley Cup champion is 127-71-20 with a 2.76 goals against average and a .911 save percentage.
