PEARL, Ont. - A serious multi-vehicle collision has closed a section of highway between Nipigon and Thunder Bay.
According to posts on social media by various emergency services including the Ontario Provincial Police, Shuniah Fire and Emergency Services, emergency crews responded to reports of a multi-vehicle collision just before 7 p.m. Monday.
The OPP said the closure of Highway 11/17 is between 5th Road and Superior Shores Road, east of Pearl.
Three vehicles were involved, according to one source.
The highway has since reopened to a single lane of traffic, while emergency crews complete their investigaton.
