A two-vehicle crash along Lakeshore Drive has sent two children to hospital with life-threatening injuries. OPP police officers, paramedics and Shuniah firefighters responded to a call just after 4 p.m. on Monday.

A two-vehicle crash along Lakeshore Drive has sent two children to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

OPP police officers, paramedics and Shuniah firefighters responded to a call just after 4 p.m. on Monday.

Five people were involved in the collision – two adults and three children. Four of the people involved were taken to theThunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where their injuries could be treated.

OPP Sgt. Ted Becker said the two children who were taken to hospital were five and nine-years-old, and had what is being reported as life threatening injuries.

“The investigation is ongoing,” Sgt. Becker told tbnewswatch.com “We have technical collision investigators coming up to continue this investigation.”

The five-year-old victim has since been listed as being in stable condition; however the condition of the nine-year-old victim remains unknown.

Few other details have been confirmed at this time.
