THUNDER BAY — Three of the city's five splash pads are set to open this weekend.

Splash pads at Northwood Playfield and County Park will open on Friday, while the waterfront splash pad at Prince Arthur's Landing is slated for a Saturday start.

The splash pads at North End Park and Franklin Park will open on June 21.

According to a city-issued release, the Prince Arthur's Landing splash pad will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. All other splash pads are open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. They generally operate through early September.

Splash pads are free for public use.
