Severe thunderstorm warning issued for city

Torrential rain and thunderstorms are predicted to start around 3 p.m. Saturday.

THUNDER BAY -- Environment Canada is issuing a thunderstorm warning for the city of Thunder Bay Saturday afternoon and early evening.

Radars indicate that heavy rain and thunderstorms will affect the region around 3 p.m., and could last into the evening hours.

Environment Canada is calling for the risk of a thunderstorm, and a high percentage chance of precipitation to last until 10 a.m. Sunday.

The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
