THUNDER BAY -- Environment Canada is issuing a thunderstorm watch for the city of Thunder Bay Thursday evening.
The national weather service issued the advisory around 7:04 p.m. on Thursday, warning conditions of some of these thunderstorms may become severe and be capable of producing hail of 2 centimetres or greater.
Strong wind gusts and heavy rain are also possible. Frequent lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops.
Environment Canada advises people to go indoors when thunder roars, warning lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Severe thunderstorms can also produce tornados, the advisory adds.
