Thunder Bay's EcoSuperior now has a shed to store fluorescent bulbs for recycling.
A group of Grade 11 students in the construction class at Ecole secondaire catholique de LaVerendrye constructed a shed and brought it to the agency's new location on Red River Road.
Executive Director Ellen Mortfield said with weather often being so unpredictable, it is nice to have a place to put fragile fluorescent bulbs during the winter. The shed will safely protect the bulbs from breaking and releasing harmful toxins.
The five students built the shed during their construction classes and delivered the final product to EcoSuperior on a trailer Tuesday.
The students say they're happy to learn construction skills and help the environment in the process.
The new shed will be able to hold up to 800 fluorescent bulbs packed into recycling bins.
