Shelter House COVID-19 outbreak declared over

A COVID-19 outbreak declared on May 20 at the Shelter House is now over, the Thunder Bay District Health Unit reports.

THUNDER BAY – An outbreak of COVID-19 at the Shelter House has been declared over after about two and a half weeks.

The outbreak at the homeless shelter was first declared by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit on May 20.

The health unit was tracking five remaining COVID-19 outbreaks as of Monday, a significant decrease from numbers seen through late April and most of May.

That included two outbreaks at Hogarth Riverview Manor, one each at Pioneer Ridge and Bethammi Nursing Home, and one not publicly disclosed.
