November shipping activity is up slightly from last year, but it isn’t enough to change what has been a slow year for the port authority.
The Thunder Bay Port Authority released its November statistics Thursday, which show that more than 816,000 tonnes of cargo passed through local port in November.
That’s up slightly from the 811,000 tonnes that came through the port in November 2009.
November’s activity brings the cumulative shipping totals for 2010 to 5.8 million tonnes, down from the 6.3 million tonnes recorded by this time in 2009.
