THUNDER BAY -- With the Thunder Bay shipping season winding down, Port Authority officials say they're seeing a diminished level of activity.

It was a busy start to the year, with near record shipping volumes on the waterfront, but in recent weeks, things have slowed down significantly.

Port CEO Tim Heney says grain numbers for November will be very similar to what they recorded in 2016 at just under nine-million metric tonnes.

Heney added they've ejoyed increased quantities of other types of cargo.

Only 25 more ships are expected in Port before they close for the season on January 15th.
