Show N’ Shine Car Show rolled into town

Nearly 100 cars were on display at the first annual Show N’ Shine Car Show.

THUNDER BAY -- There was no shortage of eye-catching rides in the city this past week.

Saturday saw the first annual Show N’ Shine Car Show take place in the Intercity Shopping Centre parking lot, formerly occupied by Lowes.

The family friendly event was taking donations to raise money for the Northern Cancer Fund.

A minimum donation of $2 dollars for participants gained them eligibility for a range of prizes, including the $300 grand prize.

Organisers Johnathan Osada and Kevin Ng were planning for around 30 to 40 cars to attend, but by the end the event saw just under 100 cars.

“Kevin and I were anticipating 30-40 cars max. We ended off the show at just shy of 100 cars registered. Word got around within those three hours QUICK” Osada said.

The event raised $860 all together, the money will be brought to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre in the next few days and a cheque presentation will be done at a later date.

Plans to organize a similar event sometime in the fall are in the works.
