Shuniah resident charged with impaired driving

The driver also received a 90-day driver's licence suspension.

FORT FRANCES —  A 47-year-old Shuniah, Ont., resident has been criminally charged with impaired driving offences.

Rainy River OPP were alerted to a possible impaired driver on March 12, according to a news release.

Police located the driver on King’s Highway in Fort Frances. A man was arrested for impaired operation based on the officer’s observation and obvious indicators of impairment.

Further tests were performed on the individual at the detachment which confirmed the driver was impaired.

As a result, Jamie Macleod, 47, of Shuniah has been charged with operating a conveyance while impaired by alcohol or drugs and operating a conveyance with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 or more.

Macleod also received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension.
