Residents in Shuniah will soon have a change of address without even having to move.
Canada Post announced what they call a more simplified approach that will provide a more accurate mail delivery system. Starting this fall, Canada Post will implement a standardized mailing address system that uses the fire numbers and street names as an official mailing address.
Residents of the municipality will also see their mailing address change from Thunder Bay or Pass Lake to Shuniah. The address change will also mean a new postal code.
Canada Post representatives will be attending an open house at the MacGregor Recreation Centre on April 13 to discuss the changes, which won't go ahead until mid-October.
Shuniah residents will receive free mail re-direction for one year.
