Shuniah traffic stop leads to impaired driving charge

A 32-year-old Dryden male was arrested on Lakeshore Drive after it was determined he was impaired while driving.

SHUNIAH, Ont. - A 32-year-old Dryden male is facing impaired driving charges after he was arrested following a traffic stop.

On July 25, at approximately 1:30 p.m., an officer from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the OPP conducted the traffic stop on Lakeshore Drive.

The officer spoke with the driver and determined the driver had been consuming alcohol.

The driver was arrested and further tests were conducted.

A 32-year-old male from Dryden was arrested and charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired - blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams of alcohol.

He is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on Sept. 13 to answer to the charge.
