THUNDER BAY – The local port is getting prepared for the start of a new shipping season.
The Thunder Bay Port will ramp up its efforts next week to start the season when an ice breaker from Duluth is expected to arrive.
The ice breaker is believed to arrive as early as Tuesday.
The Soo Locks are scheduled to open on March 25, which will put the shipping season into full swing.
