THUNDER BAY – Jagmeet Singh is scheduled to be the second party leader to visit Thunder Bay during this federal election campaign.

The NDP leader will be in the city on Friday, making an evening stop at The Study Coffeehouse on Lakehead University campus, according to an event posting on the party's website.

The visit will come about 10 days after Liberal leader Justin Trudeau hosted an event in Thunder Bay, when he held a rally at the university's campus pub.

Singh was last in Thunder Bay at the end of July, when he met with employees at the local Bombardier plant who had recently received layoff notices and held a public meet and greet.

The NDP earlier this week released a campaign pledge called the New Deal for Northern Ontario, the first party to release a platform specific to the region.
