Single-vehicle collision closes Belrose Road

THUNDER BAY – A single vehicle collision has shut down Belrose Road Tuesday afternoon.

Thunder Bay Police are asking motorists to stay away from Belrose Road, between Oliver Road and John Street, following a single-vehicle collision that has led to downed power lines.

Police say the collision took place at about 2:40 p.m. when a commercial van struck a hydro pole, causing the downed power lines.

Injuries are believed to be minor.

Hydro crews are on scene, but the road is expected to be closed for several hours.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
