Single-vehicle collision involving motorcycle sends one person to hospital

One person sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after losing control of a motorcycle on Highway 130

OLIVER PAIPOONGE, Ont. - One person was sent to hospital following a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on a highway just outside of Thunder Bay.

According to an Ontario Provincial Police media release, officers with the Thunder Bay detachment, along with Superior North EMS and Oliver Paipoonge Fire and Emergency Services, responded to the collision just after 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The motorcycle was travelling west bound on Highway 130 just west of Vibert Road when the driver lost control and came to rest on the east bound shoulder.

The driver sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

The investigation into is ongoing.
