Single vehicle collision sends one person to hospital

An early morning single-vehicle collision is under investigation by OPP.
THUNDER BAY – One person sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a motor vehicle collision early Friday morning.

According to a release, Thunder Bay Ontario Provincial Police responded to a motor vehicle collision around 5 a.m. on Highway 11 west of Thunder Bay at Kashabowie River Bridge.

Police say the lone driver struck the abutments on the bridge, which is under construction and controlled by signal lights.

The driver was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
