The Paro Centre for Women’s Enterprise has handed out its annual Business Women of Distinction and Business Awards to six pioneering women.

Erika Maki (A Spa For You), Jean Paul (Jean Paul Photography), Sharla Brown (Journey to Wellness), Marcia Aripin (All the Daze Productions), Loretta Shymko (Loretta’s Hand Knits) and Linda Bruins (An Extra Hand) received their awards at a ceremony on Wednesday night.

Rosalind Lockyer, PARO’s executive director, said she’s proud of what the winners have accomplished.

“Through entrepreneurship and business innovation, these six women are all making a real difference in their own lives and in their local and wider communities,” Lockyer said.

“The final winners stood out to the selection panel because their businesses are creating an economic impact through job creation and revenue generation, but they are also contributing socially and environmentally through their exceptional leadership and community building efforts.”
