ORILLIA, Ont. -- A winter storm that dropped 30 centimetres of snow on parts of southern Ontario wasn't nearly enough to keep Thunder Bay skiers from dominating the podium at the Ontario Winter Games.

Sarah Cullinan took top spot in Friday's four-kilometre 2004-born classic race, beating teammate Brooke Ailey by 16 seconds. Thunder Bay's Hanna Zavitz grabbed her second medal of the Games, taking third, while Carley Kiiskila earned a top-10 finish, crossing the line in ninth.

In the 2006-born race, Ruth Zavitz snagged her second medal of the competiton, finishing third, while Maarita Puiras came in fifth.

On the boy's side, Willem Van Duyn was Thunder Bay's top finisher with a third-place finish in the 2006-born category. Thunder Bay skiers, Sebastien Doucent, Eric Jasma, Josiah Weber and Cedric Martel crossed in fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh place, respectively.

Three Thunder Bay skiers, led by Edgar Sarrazin in eights, captured top 10 spots in the 2005 boy's race.

Several members of the team are off to Timmins for the Ontario Youth Championships, a two-day event slated to begin on Friday. Several others will head to Silverstar B.C. for the Canadian National Championships at the end of next month.
