Officials with the Thunder Bay detachment of the OPP say there were four incidents reported around Kakabeka Tuesday morning, including one involving a van that apparently slid off the highway.
None of the reported collisions resulted in serious injuries. OPP officials say over a 24-hour period, there were 23 accidents on the highways in this area.
Sgt. Cameron Howard said drivers should slow down and be aware of the conditions before heading out on the highway.
Howard added that sander trucks were brought out to cover the icy areas of the highway, to make them a little less slippery for area motorists.
