Smoke from south-side house fire claims life of family pet

THUNDER BAY - An early Sunday morning house fire claimed the life of a family pet. Thunder Bay Fire Rescue crews responded to a Thorndale Crescent home shortly after 1:30 a.m. where they found smoke throughout the home.

THUNDER BAY - An early Sunday morning house fire claimed the life of a family pet.

Thunder Bay Fire Rescue crews responded to a Thorndale Crescent home shortly after 1:30 a.m. where they found smoke throughout the home.

The fire was quickly brought under control with the home suffering smoke damage as well as moderate fire damage on the lower level.

The pet is believed to have died as a result of smoke inhalation. None of the residents were home at the time of the fire.

The incident remains under investigation.
