Road construction projects at a pair of busy downtown intersections around Thunder Bay are set to end in the coming weeks.
Construction crews could be seen putting a fresh layer of asphalt down at the corner of Brodie and Donald Streets near City Hall. Most of the sidewalks are completed with the road ready for traffic in the not-too-distant future.
The project is expected to be competed in about three weeks.
Meanwhile, work continues at the intersection of Red River Road and Cumberland Street.
City Project Engineer Rick Harms said the plan is to have the work completed in three weeks.
But it should at least have hard-packed gravel in place by the time the Thunder Bay Miles with the Giant Marathon is held there on Sept. 18.
During the next couple of months, Harms said local drivers can expect to see more road work on Rosslyn Road, Golf Links Road and at the railway crossings on Fort William Road and the Harbour Expressway.
