THUNDER BAY -- The status of Thunder Bay Fire Rescue Chief John Hay is up in the air.
Several sources have indicated to tbnewswatch.com on Tuesday that Hay is no longer on the job. A request for clarification as to Hay's status to city manager Norm Gale revealed little, other than to confirm the fire chief is "out of the office."
Several city council members contacted referred the matter back to Gale.
Hay could not be reached for comment.
It's believed Deputy Fire Chief Greg Hankkio has assumed Hay's duties on an interim basis.
