South side power outage knocked out electricity for over 1,000 customers

Cause of power outage is unknown, as is estimated time of restoration

THUNDER BAY — As many as nearly 1,200 customers were without electricity due to a power outage Wednesday evening.

Synergy North reported the outage just after 6 p.m.

According to the utility's outage map, the area affected spans from Southern Avenue to Miles Street East, encompassed by Vickers Street, Simpson Street, and Prince Arthur Boulevard.

Synergy North said the cause of the outage is unknown, as is an estimated time of restoration.
