THUNDER BAY — Three more residents of Southbridge Roseview long-term care have died after contracting COVID-19.
Southbridge Care Homes made the disclosure Monday morning on its website, saying a total of 11 residents have now died from the virus. Thirteen people have died of COVID-19 across the district since the pandemic began.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit also reported four additional COVID-19 cases in its coverage area on Monday.
All the cases are the result of surveillance testing of residents and staff at Southbridge Roseview.
The testing was done on Friday, Dec. 11.
The number of current active cases at the Shuniah Street nursing home includes 17 residents and 19 staff.
There are currently 116 active COVID-19 cases across the city and district.
One person is receiving treatment in the intensive care unit at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
There have been 439 COVID-19 cases in the District of Thunder Bay since the pandemic started.
