A local website creator hopes that his site will help clean up the city.
Brian Jones started Speakuptbay.ca. The idea for the site was inspired by an American made iPhone application.
“I started with an idea that I got from something that the City of Boston did,” Jones said during an interview with CKPR Radio.
“They created an iPhone app that lets people go around the city and if they see something that’s broken or graffiti somewhere they can just take a photo of it with their phone and send it to their site.”
So far he has had some success, but needs more people to get involved to really reap the full benefits of the website.
“I’ve seen at least 10 or 15 issues that have been dealt with very quickly once the city has been made aware of it,” he said.
