THUNDER BAY -- Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the city of Thunder Bay, warning of the potential for significant rainfall Thursday evening into Friday.
The national weather service issued the advisory Thursday morning, warning that rain is expected to spread over Northwestern Ontario Thursday afternoon and evening.
Rain, at times heavy, will continue through Thursday night before gradually tapering to scattered showers late Friday.
Significant rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 millimetres are expected by midday Friday.
Locally higher amounts are also possible however there remains some uncertainty regarding these higher amounts. Rainfall warnings may be required as the event draws closer.
