Speeder gets more than a ticket after cocaine found in vehicle

A heavy foot alerted police to a motorist suspected of driving with several kilograms of cocaine in his vehicle. OPP officers spotted the speeder Monday afternoon on Highway 17-A in Kenora. Police stopped the motorist and searched the vehicle.

A heavy foot alerted police to a motorist suspected of driving with several kilograms of cocaine in his vehicle.

OPP officers spotted the speeder Monday afternoon on Highway 17-A in Kenora. Police stopped the motorist and searched the vehicle.

As a result of that search, police found seven kilograms of cocaine.

Police believe the potential street value of the drugs seized equal almost $750,000.

A 26-year-old Pickering, Ont. man remains in custody.
