Spring Home and Garden Show Returns

The show featured more than 100 booths that had everything to do with backyard and home renovations

THUNDER BAY – Crowds were out and about at the CLE grounds this weekend, to get a head start on turning the backyard into the envy of the neighborhood as we approach the warmer seasons.

The 25th anniversary spring home and Garden show was the first time the event has been held in four years and locals turned out en masse to see everything this year's show has to offer.

“It's been like a sleeper and all of the sudden, we're awake,” said Pete Mercer, Co-chair of the Home and garden show “Thunder Bay's back and the soul is the Home and Garden Show.”

The show featured more than 100 booths that had everything to do with backyard and home renovations along with numerous food vendors.

“If you're hungry, there's like a dozen food vendors, and then that's, you know, everybody loves food.” said Mercer.

“Of course, there's the exhibitors, anything to do with homes, everything from landscaping to window places to granite countertop companies to supply companies, and there's actually a lot of giveaways too, like some places are giving away everything you can think of that has to do with your home.”

Mercer said he believes the crowds will only continue to grow throughout the weekend.

“It's pretty well packed and I think it's going to be like this all weekend,” he said. “This is Thunder Bay and we we're pretty resilient, so I think it's going to be awesome.”

The home and Garden show continues April 1 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and on April 2 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.
