THUNDER BAY — A hold and secure at St. Ignatius High School has ended.
The Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board issued the update later Thursday morning, after the protocol was put in effect after the school had received information of a possible threat.
The board has since said the investigation determined there was no threat made to the school.
At the time the hold and secure was announced, the school board called it a precautionary measure.
“The safety of our students and staff are our main concern,” the board stated. “As a precaution, Thunder Bay police officers are on site at St. Ignatius High School and the school has been placed in a Hold and Secure.”
Its statement asked anyone with information about the incident to contact the Thunder Bay Police Service at (807) 684-1200, crimestoppers at (807) 623-8477, or online at www.p3tips.com.
